Small Business Marketing Ideas

Good small business marketing ideas, specifically for your business or industry are rare. We all invest a lot of time, energy and money in marketing our businesses, and we all go through marketing pitfalls. How many marketing companies, graphic and web designers, or promotional companies tell you that they have exactly what your biz needs?

You purchase it, try it, and ... it doesn't work out. They tell you then that you didn't do it, use it right, not long enough, and so on.

My experience is that there isn't one marketing idea or marketing strategy that fits all all small businesses.

It is the same with small business leads. If your business works in the b2b field, joining your local chamber after you started your small business will boost your leads and help your networking efforts. For example, a graphic designer who sells business cards will have a huge chance to get business leads from 99% of the chamber members.

A blue-collar company, offering services to residents, only has a 25% chance to get business and leads from other chamber members.

Why? Both have the same chamber membership but different target customers. The blue-collar caters to residents and works in the b2r field.

What is business networking? What small business marketing ideas, like networking business cards , do you need to succeed with your business networking?

What does it mean for your small biz to find the proper small business marketing ideas and tools?

Marketing Tools For Your Small Biz - Who Is Your Target Customer?

How can you find out who your target customer is?

Pull out some of your old invoices. Define the demographics, geographics, who is your repeating customer, and so on.

You could find out that women, between 25 - 35 years, with an average income of $80,000, bachelor degree, living in Orlando, are 35% of your customers.

Now you can create marketing tools for this specific target customer.

Think about how you can reach them. What do these women watch, read, like to do in their free time, hobbies?

You could have the following marketing tools:

These are only a few examples of small business tips how to find your target customers and the proper marketing tools, like affordable, good quality, and cheap promotional items, for them.

Don't give up or get frustrated when things don't work out. Life will not be what you expect.

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" Read the book "Who Moved My Cheese?" It will help you to stay motivated.
